Peer Review Process

Journal Trias Criminologica: Studies in Criminal Law, Criminology, and Penology implements a double-blind peer review process, ensuring that both authors and reviewers remain anonymous to each other. This procedure aims to maintain the objectivity and academic integrity of all published manuscripts. Each submitted manuscript undergoes an initial editorial screening to ensure its relevance to the journal’s focus, scope, and writing guidelines. Manuscripts that pass this stage are sent to two expert reviewers for scientific assessment. Reviewers evaluate the originality, relevance, depth of analysis, research methodology, clarity of argumentation, and contribution of the article to the fields of criminal law, criminology, and penology. The reviewers’ recommendations serve as the basis for the editorial board’s decision to accept, revise, or reject the manuscript. The review process generally takes 4 to 8 weeks, depending on reviewer feedback and the completeness of revisions. The journal is published four times a year, in March, June, September, and December. All communications regarding the review process are conducted through the online journal management system (OJS).
