Publication Ethics

Journal Trias Criminologica: Studies in Criminal Law, Criminology, and Penology is committed to maintaining the integrity and quality of scientific publications by upholding publication ethics based on the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines. This ethical statement applies to all parties involved in the publishing process—authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher.

  1. Authors’ Responsibilities
    • Authors must submit original and accurate works free from plagiarism.
    • Manuscripts must not be published elsewhere or under consideration in another journal.
    • All sources used in the research and writing must be properly cited according to academic standards.
    • All individuals who contributed significantly to the research and writing must be listed as co-authors.
    • Authors are responsible for the content of their work, including data accuracy, analysis, and conclusions.
  1. Editors’ Responsibilities
    • Editors are responsible for making publication decisions based on the manuscript’s scientific merit and relevance to the journal’s focus.
    • Editors must ensure that the review process is objective, transparent, and free from conflicts of interest.
    • Editors should maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts and must not use unpublished materials for personal purposes.
    • Editors must reject manuscripts that show signs of ethical misconduct or plagiarism.
  1. Reviewers’ Responsibilities
    • Reviewers assist editors in evaluating the academic quality of manuscripts through a double-blind review process.
    • Reviewers must provide objective evaluations based solely on scholarly grounds, free from personal, institutional, or political bias.
    • Reviewers must maintain confidentiality and not disclose or use any part of the manuscript under review.
    • Reviewers should avoid conflicts of interest related to authors, topics, or institutions.
  1. Publisher’s Responsibilities
    • The publisher, PT. Adhyaksa Putra Aji, is responsible for ensuring ethical publication practices, academic integrity, and professionalism at all stages of publication.
    • The publisher guarantees editorial independence and supports editors and reviewers in handling ethical issues.
    • The publisher collaborates with editors to address allegations of misconduct, including plagiarism, data manipulation, or duplicate publication.
  1. Plagiarism and Ethical Violation Prevention
    • All submitted manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software prior to review.
    • The journal only accepts manuscripts with a similarity index of no more than 25%, following academic standards.
    • Any violation of publication ethics will result in sanctions, including article retraction or a ban on future submissions.
